An office complex of 25,000 sqft for a rapidly expanding software company.
The Practice was responsible for all stages, from Outline Planning Approval, through detail design to full construction and fit-out drawings, ending up notated to the Design and Build Contractor.
Subsequently altered by others.
Gun Street
A major two storey redevelopment of a 1940’s NHS building in central Reading behind a Listed building, into a large retail space, prominently featuring a glass bridge across the Holy Brook river.
The historically significant Holy Brook river travels underground to the Abbey ruins, emerging at several points in Reading, including the entrance to the nearby Oracle shopping centre.
The design project involved integrating a new, modern building into the older surrounding urban environment.
The practice carried out a detailed investigation into the history of the site and the Listed building, and wrote the Heritage Statement supporting the design.
The practice worked with various environmental, archaeological and historical agencies in order to enhance and preserve the historic importance of the Holy Brook as a Listed river, and respect the historic building, whilst achieving a modern commercial design.
Egham
Air-conditioned offices on three floors, with complex 3D steel geometry.
The design was praised in the local papers by the Planning Department.
The Practice was responsible for Planning consultancy, design, interior design and construction information, and was novated to the Design and Build Contractor.
Reigate
A 7500 sqft office building, in a Conservation Area.
The practice provided Planning consultancy, design, interior design, working drawings, full specifications, and Contract Administration.
Short listed for a local design award.
